The Can of Corn designated for assignment
(by Michael Stephens)

No, we haven’t been sent down to the minor leagues – we just wanted to let you all know that the podcast is done year, just like the 2009 regular season! We had a great run this season on the Cafe and enjoyed each and every one of our thirty-plus shows this season. We can’t wait to see what 2010 will hold for The Can of Corn, but one thing we know for sure is that we should be back in late February with season previews for you, including many of our old segments and some new content as well! One other thing that will change for next year (and we played with it for a bit in the last weeks of this year) is the location of the show. We have moved all of the Cafe’s podcasts to fit in with their own sport-specific Cafe, so from now on you will be able to find our baseball show on the baseball Cafe – there will be a “podcasts” button on the left side of the page, but you can also access the site by clicking THIS LINK. We thank you for all of your support this season and can’t wait to get back on the air for an exciting 2010 season! [More]

The Can of Corn – Show 22
(by Michael Stephens)

Welcome to The Can of Corn, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! It smells like October! Well, the October of fantasy baseball season at least! We’ve reached the time of year where lineup decisions are even more gut wrenching and injuries are devastating – there is no time more important than now to keep on top of your roster and player news and to make all the right moves to advance to the second week of the playoffs, so we hope you choose to turn to our Rookie Watch, injury updates, Cafe Talk and e-mail analysis for the advice you need to inch closer to your league’s championship! It’s time to grab your glove and head for the outfield, because here comes The Can of Corn! [More]

The Can of Corn – Show 21
(by Michael Stephens)

Welcome to The Can of Corn, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! Man, what is the deal with all of these post-deadline deals? And who the heck is “player to be named later”? With the playoffs (fantasy and reality) quickly approaching, general managers and fantasy owners alike are scrambling to put together the best possible roster for the optimum postseason success, is there a better way to achieve this success than with a healthy dose of Rookie Watch, injury updates and Cafe Talk? There simply isn’t one as far as we’re concerned, so grab your glove and head for the outfield – here comes The Can of Corn! [More]

The Can of Corn – Show 20
(by Michael Stephens)

Welcome to The Can of Corn, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! You know the season is getting close to the end when we have logged 20 shows! But, we were still able to cull the fantasy world to produce a constant stream of fantasy baseball information, so you won’t hear any complaints from us! This week we have over 900 career saves on the move, season-ending injuries everywhere and tons of Cafe Talk to go along with our regular segments on hot/cold hitters, Battle of the Wits, the Hot Corner and much more – so grab your glove and head for the outfield – here comes The Can of Corn! [More]

Full Court Press ramps up the backcourt pressure!
(by Michael Stephens)

You’ve been waiting for over three months, and you’re about to be rewarded! That’s right, Full Court Press will be returning to Fantasy Cafe Radio in the coming days, with a preseason show featuring host Steve, Justin Phan (Rotowire.com) and Matt Buser (busersports.com)! With the season only three weeks away, there’s no time like the present to up that fantasy IQ before draft day, and Full Court Press aims to do just that! One major note for you listeners: the show will no longer be posted on the Fantasy Cafe Radio site, but will instead be posted (every week) on the basketball-specific Cafe – you will soon see a “podcasts” button on the left side of the basketball Cafe, or you can also access it by clicking THIS LINK once it’s up and running. We hope you’re as excited for the 2009-10 season as we are on Full Court Press, and we thank you for your continued support of our show and the Fantasy Cafe! [More]

Week one of the fantasy season has already begun, but aside from the information pertaining to the screwy Thursday evening NFL season opener, the hosts of 4th and Goal bring you their first structured, weekly episode of their show to provide you with the most up-to-date information on injury news, player updates, and Cafe postings and much, much more! After picking some head-to-head matchups between fringe starters and flex plays, we will even make some picks against the spread for you betting types! There’s a lot packed into this first 16-minute episode, so you’d better call your best play or hit the showers, cause it’s 4th and Goal! [More]
